Had a good evening yesterday, usual Dodford start of the weekend stuff, then I went to Bromsgrove later to watch a band. The Undercocks, (great name by the way) are a local band that covers Punk and New Wave. As I'm of an age to remember it first time around I really enjoyed it!
They played at the Hop Pole Pub which serves proper beer as well, not the mass manufactured chemically inhanced hangover inducing stuff. I was pretty disconcerted though as to all of the folk in there singing and dancing along to stuff like "Pretty vacant" and "Sheena is a Punk Rocker" were not exactly in the first flush of youth. Am I that old? Gulp!
Also kudos to the guy who stepped up out of the crowd and sang "Teenage Kicks" with the band. He was balding fat bloke about 50 years old who sounded more like Feargal Sharkey than Feargal Sharkey! He was brilliant!
Out and about today with wifey and the kids. Have fun all!
