New week, same old same old...

Yesterday's pedal home was really great right up until this...

As you can see he nearly had me under his wheels, and he obviously saw me as he indicated bizarrely enough to "pull in front of me". Oh and ignore the date stamp on the film, it clearly isn't the 15th of January! I still haven't worked out how to change it yet.

Anyway, just a bit further on he jumped the red light to turn left into Jiggins Lane, which unfortunately doesn't come out on the video, but as he did turn left I knew where he was going as I wanted a discussion.

As predicted I caught him up at King Edwards Grammar School where he acts as a school service. I have the exchange on video, which as I'm emailing the video to his company with a suitable write up I'll keep to myself, suffice it to say he denied all knowledge of the incident, said he hadn't seen me (which his indicating disproves) and refused point blank to apologise (not that I asked for one) , even when I pointed out my helmet cam.

This is the company by the way. http://www.thegreenbus.co.uk/

Ironic that they call themselves green, when using old polluting vehicles and their driver's seem to take exception to the only environmentally sound wheeled transport. By the way, I'm not an extremist tree hugger or yoghurt knitter, but even an old cynic like me can see the "green" credentials of the bike. Politics over.

I'll obviously keep you all informed, but I'm not holding my breath.

  2. OMG that was close. And yes, it's really ironic when you see "The Green Bus" on the back of the thing as it goes past - you would expect the driver to be cycle aware. I hope your complaint is taken seriously. In York, I think it would be: http://www.york.gov.uk/cycling/

  6. Keep pestering them mate - drivers need to be aware that a lot of cyclists have cameras on these days to fight back against the shit we have to put up with on a regular basis!

Glad your OK mate and do keep us posted!

Can I put that on FBD too?

  7. I think you should hold your breath, you have the evidence, it depends how far you want to take it. It's alot of hassle, but we have to start making a stand, for it to benefit the majority. A crap bus driver none of us need, car drivers included. Go on give it a go!
