It's June, the challenges begin...

I pedalled in on my Ridgeback this morning via the cut, nothing to report at all, a totally standard pedal. Other than I started out a bit later than I would have liked, I seem to be having trouble getting my arse out of bed lately. Not like me at all.

The TV repair man finally showed at 1130hrs yesterday and swapped the box over as predicted, with yet another "I'm amazed, because I never have to swap boxes over" statement. Every Virgin engineer in my house has said that. They're either trained to say that, or it's some sort of weird Pavlovian engineer type response.

He also came out with some techy type bollocks that it's probably the TV affecting the boxes with a power feedback loop through the Cable Box! Yeah right. I didn't mention the fact that I was in the Royal Signals for 12 years and know a bit about comms systems and switchs so I know when I'm being bullshitted! Anyway, I now have a working TV but for how long?

I've started studying the OS maps around my area for some new off road and leisure cycle routes. I''ve already spotted a pretty good 40 miler, which takes in a bit of road and a lot of towpath, very roughly it's a pedal over to Solihull, get on the Grand Union Canal at Catherine-De-Barnes, pedal South until roughly Wooten Wawen where you pick up the Stratford on Avon Canal which brings you back North West to Kings Norton and NCR5. I'm trying to con my mate Ski to pedal that with me. I'll be definately be doing that one whatever though.

  1. Ha ha - don't you just love it when digital TV engineers think they know better than you, and you could sit them down and explain to them quite a lot more than they would know :)

  2. I would have had a bit more time for him if he'd have just said that he hadn't got a clue why the boxes keep going foom. I suspect they actually know but aren't allowed to say.

I mean 4 boxes in as many months suggest a fault with their kit. My Sky+ box was in use for ages with no dramas whatsoever.
