The dreaded Lurgy...

My family prides itself on being very close, very supportive and very loving and sharing. So much so that The Spawn of Satan and Wifey have very kindly shared their bug with me. I woke up feeling cack, pretty wheezy and achey so even though I manfully dragged myself into work I did so via the internal combustion engine and not pedal power. It doesn't feel right. (Sulk).

I trust this small interlude will be over shortly and I'll be back pedalling as soon as humanly possible.

  1. There seems to be a lot of this going around.

I've not pedalled in for over a week now and i'm getting more and more frustrated with driving.

Found myself yelling at the driver infront when at the junction for 6 minutes until someone let her out. Hardly the crime of the century. I don't know why I was getting so vexed.

  2. Driving is frustrating, it's because you don't make progress all the time like you do on a bike I think. Could be wrong though...

  3. Clive - your right.
Thats the reason I hate driving now, although I've got into the habit of recording my car journeys too now using the iphone, and that seems to have had a calming effect on me ;)

as for the lurgy - thats what families are for! Get better soon mate

  4. Get well soon. I drive to work every day and it can be a flippin nightmare, even when you're used to it.
The same numpties that make cycling dangerous also make driving frustrating, and sometimes things happen that just can't be helped, but which slow you down a lot more than they do when you're on a bike with the option of travelling safely through and around hold-ups that stop cars dead.
Your family must really love you.

  6. we do love ya Clive, just dont come too close with that lurgy, ok?

Hope you feel better soon. I guess Im lucky, when I commute in the car, there is hardly ever much traffic about so I dont get too stressed, but driving during the day, I hate.
