Last day here for a week!

I'm off work next week so I'll be looking to put a dent in Phill's 100 mile challenge. The kids are at nursery or school so happy days, a grown up week! Wifey wants to go on a few Towpath bimbles too, so I'll be adding those miles to the challenge as well as my off road jaunts. One of my jaunts of which I'll be doing tomorrow and blogging about with a weight update. Fingers crossed for that, been super good with the grub and pedalled every day too.

Today's pedal was shaping up to be a good one, I was joined for the first time by chance by a fellow cyclist at Northfield and we got chatting all the way down the Bristol Road, he was off to Perry Barr and commutes every day on his bike and did all last winter too, which he said was an effort. I shared his pain. Then bang followed by hiss...Yep the puncture fairy struck again, the bloke wanted to stop with me but I told him to crack on. No sense in both of us being delayed. Nice of him though. Hope we cross paths again.

Rear tube swapped and after using my mini pump in anger for the first time I pedalled the rest of the way in with a tyre not quite as highly pressurised as I would like. Bloody mini pumps, about as much use a chocolate tea pot.

  1. Looking forward to hearing about your towpath bimbles. My hubby cycles and I'm hoping to get him to do a bimble or two around where we live one day soon, so that I can go along. Wouldn't want it to be more than a few miles though - at least the vale of York is nice and flat :-D

PS Word Verification is "fooduck" LOL

  2. Thanks Christie, I'm looking forward to pedalling them, apparently wifey has a few handy canal pubs in mind for the routes!

  3. I think most cyclists try to discuise the bimble to the pub by calling it a training ride with a cafe stop.

Just lost my mini pump. I'm just praying I don't get a puncture.

  4. Ah, still learning cyclist's speak Jon.

As for the pump, if it's anything like the mini pumps I've used over the years then you might as well try to inflate the tyre using your own breath!

  6. Cheers LTMWB, as for the weight loss widget I blatantly nicked it off Christie's site. I can't take credit for it.

I don't think I'll I'll complete the 100 next week, but I aim to dent it somewhat!
