Inner wimp...

It's a lovely day, the roads I knew were going to be even quieter because of some random sporting event or other happening this afternoon, which meant my pedal home would be done on fairly quiet roads as everyone was stuck in pubs watching said random sporting event.

So why oh why did I start listening to my inner wimp again? 0600hrs I got out of bed and started looking for my day clothes as I'd made an excuse to myself about it being late and I needed drive in.

Luckily I couldn't find my shoes, well I knew where they were but the noise of digging out the wardrobe to get them would have woken the house up, so I got my cycling kit on as I always have it ready to go and got on my bike. Let's hear it for an untidy wardrobe! Inner wimp beaten by random chance, if my shoes had have been handy I know I wouldn't have pedalled. Why? I enjoyed it once on my bike as always.

The pedal in as predicted was very quiet and uneventful, I even got 2 overtakes in, both blokes I hadn't seen before on MTBs. I absolutely flew by them. Indeed, it felt like a very quick pedal in.

Ahh, that's why it felt quick, it was quick!

Yesterday's pedal was uneventful, interestingly, the bus that nearly killed me wasn't around yesterday and there was a different one parked up at the school. Not sure if it means anything though. If you haven't read the comments from yesterday I had this emailed to me from the bus company:

Good morning Mr Chapman

I hope you are well

Re : Stonehouse Lane incident 21.06.2010

I love the fact he says he hopes I'm well, maybe he thinks I've had to run the gauntlet of his buses again!

I shall stay all over this and I've decided to give them 48 hours from the above mail to respond to me before I'm on his case again. This time by phone.

  1. Well the inner wimp certainly didn't get its way - you belted it in!

It'll be interesting to see what the bus company says, presumably after they've spoken to the driver. The video evidence says it all though!
