I wasn't expecting that! Had an email last night from my Boss at the School of Rugby that tonights Coaching session was off due to a waterlogged pitch. I'll take that, it meant I could pedal in.
Every morning for a couple of weeks now I've seen a bloke on a MTB, (not a massively good one to be fair, I hope that doesn't sound snobby and elitist) pedalling slowly on the pavement at walking pace down the Bristol Road. He's a Council worker (I can tell by his overalls) so I've Christened him Council man. Now he's a youngish bloke, not carrying any weight. I'd love to be able to stop and ask him why he's on a bike. I've passed him pretty much on every bit of the Bristol Road between Northfield and Selly Oak and he's always pootling along really slowly. Strange. I may never find out I suppose. I can probably guess why he's on the pavement though...No lights on his bike.
Anyway, my pedal in went really well, no Joby's* to report and I did a pretty good time in. 50 minutes exactly for the 12 miles. It was the City Centre route though and not the cut so it meant I could go a bit faster.
I may have some exciting (well for me) news to report very soon. No clues, so I'll keep you all in suspenders...
* Joby = A life threatening incident while pedaling.
